The beginning of the journey
Ever since I was young I had a fascination with video games and loved playing them whenever I got the chance. I got my first console, a PlayStation 1, as a birthday gift in 1999 and ever since then I've been collecting and sometimes playing games. Growing up I had a few games that my parents would buy me and would play them as much as I could but once I started getting older and mowing lawn and bringing in my own money that's when my collection started really growing. Once I got a PlayStation 2 and a copy of Burnout 3 for Christmas in 2004 pretty much all my money started going to games and lucky me we had a small store in town that sold used games making it even easier to collect. As I grew older my tastes in games grew and when I finally saved up enough to by a Xbox 360 I got to discover the world of playing games online with others and that's where I stalled for awhile playing on shooters like Call Of Duty and Battlefield but I was having the time of my life enjoying games with my friends and making new friends across the country. Later into high school I started falling away from shooters and started going back to all sorts of games and with having my first job my collection for the 360 grew fairly quickly but it was at this point I was starting to struggle to play the games and just enjoyed collecting them more. College came and I bought a PS3 so had another console to start buying games for and at this point between all my games I had dozens but was still playing little. Eventually I sold my 360 and most of my games to focus on school but that's also when I finally had a computer capable of playing games and was getting into the height of buying game bundles so while I downsized on physical games my digital game collection ballooned. Years past and I was playing less and less but buying more and more where now in 2024 between physical and digital games I have over 2500 games and there are so many I want to experience so decided to start a blog to get me to sit down and play them and write up what I think of each as I go through them.
